Word Of The Day. Day 1 Change

After eventually succeeding in completing the May Bloggers challenge, although at times a little later than others, I have become a glutton for punishment and decided to give the June challenge a shot.  I will pre warn you though that from June 6-13th I shall be sunning myself on a beach in Rhodes and shall probably be reading rather than writing so shall be playing catch up again when back.
I have a wonderful young lady to thank for the June Bloggers challenge. She is called Arielle and is active within a community which promotes eating disorder recovery.  She is possibly one of the most inspirational people I have come across and although irrelevant has bloody lovely hair :)
and herehttp://www.youtube.com/user/arielleleebai    As you can see she is one busy lady with one positive message. Recovery from an eating disorder is possible.

Back to the challenge.  Basically I have a word a day and I write about it, its as simple as that!!  Here's to hoping.

CHANGE
Verb. To make or become different
Noun. An act or process in which something becomes different.

Some changes we have little or no control over, like the weather or the economy.
Some changes are inevitable like ageing or death.
Some changes are a consequence of other changes like depression, unemployment, grief or divorce.
What we can control though is how we deal with these changes and how we react to the feelings we get from them. The wanting to change and the motivation to do this ultimately has to come from you. Yes, you can get support, therapy, encouragement from others but you really need to want, deep inside to change the way you think about and react to things.  Feelings and emotions have to be recognised as what they are and not to be transposed onto your body. Change can happen and can be good.

Man In The Mirror
Micheal Jackson
I'm gonna make a change,
for once in my life
It's gonna feel real good,
gonna make a difference
Gonna make it right...

As I, turn up the collar on
my favourite winter coat
This wind is blowing my mind
I see the kids in the streets,
with not enough to eat
Who am I to be blind?
Pretending not to see their needs

A summer disregard, a broken bottle top
And a one man soul
They follow each other on the wind ya' know
'Cause they got nowhere to go
That's why I want you to know

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change
(Na na na, na na na, na na, Na nah)

I've been a victim of a selfish kind of love
It's time that I realise
That there are some with no home, not a nickel to loan
Could it be really me, pretending that they're not alone

A willow deeply scarred, somebody's broken heart
And a washed-out dream
(Washed-out dream)
They follow the pattern of the wind ya' see
'Cause they got no place to be
That's why I'm starting with me

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
(Ooh!)
I'm asking him to change his ways
(Ooh!)
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
(Ooh!)
I'm asking him to change his ways
(Change his ways - ooh!)
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make that..
CHANGE!

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
(Man in the mirror - Oh yeah!)
I'm asking him to change his ways
(Better change!)
No message could have been any clearer
(If you wanna make the world a better place)
(Take a look at yourself and then make the change)

(You gotta get it right, while you got the time)
('Cause when you close your heart)
You can't close your... your mind!
(Then you close your... mind!)
That man, that man, that man, that man
With the man in the mirror
(Man in the mirror, oh yeah!)
That man, that man, that man,
I'm asking him to change his ways
(Better change!)
You know... that man
No message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make the change
Hoo! Hoo! Hoo! Hoo! Hoo!
Na na na, na na na, na na, na nah
(Ooooh...)
Oh no, no no...

I'm gonna make a change
It's gonna feel real good!
Come on!
(Change...)
Just lift yourself
You know
You've got to stop it,
Yourself!
